- Section 1555 of the 2024 NDAA was intended to prevent advertising agencies that contract with DoD from funding censorship. However, there is little evidence to suggest they are in compliance with this provision or that DoD is enforcing it. Newsmax continues to work with the Speaker and Republican Armed Services Committee members to strengthen Sec. 1555 in the 2025 NDAA as well as include provisions to rein in censorship in the FY 2025 Omnibus. The status of those bills is highly dependent on the outcome of the election.
